STRING TRIO NO.1 for Violin, Viola and Violoncello (2003)
I. Furioso
I am an avid visual art admirer. Beautiful and vibrant colors intrigue me; mysteriously, they often lead me to a fantasy world of sound. As a composer, I try to portray my deepest feeling, thoughts and manifestation musically. For me, each musical note or harmony has a beautiful unique color. STRING TRIO NO. 1 has five brief, yet distinctive movements with various timbre effects. My music is intensely personal, and I hope it speaks for itself.
STRING TRIO NO. 1 is commissioned by and dedicated to my dear friend/violinist Joshua Friedlander, an affiliate of the Florida State University New Music Ensemble. The premiere performance was on November 24, 2003 at the Florida State University School of Music New Music Ensemble Concert.
